The “Station of Flavours” is an urban regeneration project for the historic Leopolda Railway Station in Pisa, conceived to transform one of the city’s landmark buildings into a vibrant hub dedicated to gastronomy, culture, and social interaction. The concept draws inspiration from some of the most successful international food markets, reinterpreting them through a local lens to create an open, dynamic, and accessible destination. The project combines a fresh produce market, themed restaurants, spaces for chefs and culinary education, event areas, conference facilities, and gathering spaces, creating an ecosystem capable of attracting residents, visitors, and industry professionals alike. The spatial organization has been designed to ensure flexibility and continuous use throughout the day. More than a traditional market, the project envisions a new urban destination where production, tasting, learning, and entertainment coexist, enhancing the excellence of the Tuscan territory while reactivating the historic Leopolda Station as a place for community, exchange, and innovation.
