The Marina di Carrara waterfront project stems from the idea of creating an iconic landmark that strengthens the connection between the city and the sea, enhancing the waterfront with attractive and functional public spaces. The intervention aims for urban continuity through pedestrian pathways, green areas, and sustainable mobility, improving accessibility and integration with the existing context. The redevelopment of Viale Cristoforo Colombo and the surrounding areas includes the use of local materials and advanced technological solutions to minimize environmental impact. The project features commercial, cultural, and recreational spaces, with multifunctional buildings dedicated to the arts and a new marble plaza-belvedere designed for events and social interaction. An iconic wooden pier-like structure will house services and a panoramic viewpoint. The concept is based on a consistent architectural language inspired by historical heritage, ensuring a sustainable and identity-driven regeneration of the coastal area.
